Obwohl und trotzdem

Common mistakes
Do not keep main-clause order after obwohl: obwohl ich krank bin, not obwohl ich bin krank.
Do not say Trotzdem ich komme; use Trotzdem komme ich.
Do not omit the comma around an obwohl clause.
What to remember
Obwohl is a subordinating conjunction, so the verb goes at the end. Trotzdem works as a sentence adverb, so the main verb remains in second position.
