Harf grupları
sch → ş · st/sp (kelime başında) → şt/şp · pf → pf · ch → hırıltılı hschon yaklaşık ‘şon’, Straße kelime başında st ile ‘ştra-’, Pferd ise pf ile başlar. ich ve doch içindeki ch aynı şekilde okunmaz; ses kelimeye göre değişir.

German pronunciation is often easier when you learn common letter combinations as units. The Turkish approximations below are only a starting point; listening and repeating the full word is essential.

Common combinations
sch → ‘sh’ · initial st/sp → ‘sht’/‘shp’ · pf → pf · ch → a friction soundschon begins with a sound like English ‘sh’. At the beginning of Straße and Sport, st and sp are pronounced with a soft ‘sh’ sound. The sound of ch changes with the word.
Listen and repeat
Schon heute spiele ich Sport.
I am already playing sport today.
Ich kaufe ein neues Haus.
I am buying a new house.
Niemand wartet draußen.
Nobody is waiting outside.
Common mistakes
Do not treat Turkish spelling as an exact pronunciation guide.
Do not pronounce every ch in the same way.
Learn ß as part of the word rather than replacing it automatically with ss.

Learn German sounds in recurring combinations, then practise them in complete words and sentences.
